Food is a BIG deal in November and what better way to commemorate that than with a recipe contest? But in typical NMPL fashion, this contest will have a twist! We want YOU to write your own recipe - no peeking in cookbooks allowed. If you’re a teen or adult, this is your chance to try on the chef’s hat of a professional recipe developer (or maybe you’ll go the goofy route). If you’re a kid, well, check out this recipe written by a three year old former staffer (she was even published in a magazine!): Strawberry Cake
We’re accepting submissions through the month of November for the following categories: 6 and under, 7 - 12, Teen, and Adult. Recipes will be posted on the Library’s website and Facebook page for the reading enjoyment of all our patrons. The winning submissions in each category will receive a set of Silicone Muffin Molds, a Danish Dough Whisk, and a Mixing Bowl! Winners will be announced November 30th. Unsure of where to begin? Stop by the table across from the circulation desk to pick up a blank recipe card to fill out! Have you always been eager to learn watercolor painting but unsure of just where to start? Then tune in today at 11am on Facebook for our Watercolor Basics program! This helpful video session will teach you beginning watercolor tips and tricks that will ensure your next painting is a success! Lastly, for those who have registered, Crazy 8's Math Club is in for another crazy fun time tonight at 6pm in the Blocher Room! We can't wait to see you there! (Masks and registration are required.)
