The North Manchester Public Library wants to thank the family and friends of Bev Westendorf for their generous donation to the Children's Department. Bev was owner/operator of the Time Out Inn Sandwich Cellar and loved to bring her grandchildren to the library. After she passed away in 2016, her family set up a memorial fund in her name. The fund's purpose is to further the Library's mission of making the Children's Department a fun, creative space where families can interact with each other and enjoy books.
The first donation from the fund was used to revamp two nooks into a popular reading corner and play castle. It also funded the purchase of a much loved book worm and other toys in the playroom. The most recent donation has been used to purchase additional play food and a shopping cart for real-life play, a crocodile with activity panels for small children, and an arched book display. An interactive ball track has also been purchased for the play room and will arrive in early 2020. Patrons are invited to visit the Children's Department to see and experience the wonderful contributions the Bev Westendorf Memorial Fund has made to our library!
