Hey North Manchester, we've got another project up our sleeves!⠀ We're beginning a long term project to collect 550 pounds of bottle caps and lids which will be turned into an awesome wheelchair accessible, outdoor table! Help us reach this goal by donating your plastic lids and caps in the big blue box in the library entryway (next to the free book shelf)!⠀
⠀ WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU DONATE:⠀ - Only #2, #4, and #5 plastic lids and caps are accepted. Examples: medicine bottle caps, milk jug, creamer caps, detergent caps, hair spray caps, toothpaste caps, deodorant caps, apple sauce pouch caps, drink bottle caps, soda, water, juice caps, sports drinks, flip-top caps, spout caps, spray paint caps, ointment tube caps, baby food caps, shampoo/conditioner caps, cottage cheese lids, yogurt lids, mayonnaise jar lids, peanut butter lids, ice cream bucket lids, cool whip container lids, Pringle can lids, coffee can lids, butter lids, cream cheese lids, spice lids. (No other kind of plastic lid or cap can be accepted.)⠀ - Lids and caps must be CLEAN.⠀ - No plastic containers of any kind.⠀ ⠀ Stop by today and grab a flier from the box that you can hang on your fridge with a list of all acceptable donated items! ⠀ ⠀ Thank you so much for helping us reach our goal! Storytime is today at 11am at the library! Join us for silly songs, a story, and a pipe cleaner bubble wand craft! Dirty Diggers is tonight at 6pm! We'll be learning all about seeds! Seeds may not have the colors and smells of other plant parts, but they are definitely important. Join us as we construct seed viewers and learn about the conditions they need to germinate!
Join us tonight at 6pm and bring home a piece of the beach without leaving North Manchester. That's right, we’re going to make Baking Soda Seashells! No beach trip this year? No problem! We’re still going to have some beautiful, handmade shells to display around the house.
The hours of the room are Monday through Saturday from 7am to 10pm. The room is not booked on Sundays or on holidays.
With the re-opening of the room, the NMPL is also introducing an updated board-approved policy. The room will be able to be used by non-profit and community groups for a $40 refundable deposit, while private events and parties can use the room for a non-refundable renters fee. The amount for private events will be based upon hours of use. Reservations lasting four (4) hours or less will be charged a rental fee of forty dollars ($40.00) and reservation times over four (4) hours will be charged a rental fee of sixty dollars ($60.00). This new policy will help offset the cost of upkeep and maintenance to the room, in addition to covering the utilities that are used during renting. Bookings must be done at the library, but those wanting to check the availability of a date can call the library at (260) 982-4773. For more information, please visit our Blocher Room page. Lego Club is today at 11am! Use our awesome Lego collection to build a Shark Tank. Each participant will receive a toy shark to keep!
Don't miss Storytime today at 11am! It's going to be an under-the-sea themed good time! BeTween is today at 3:45pm! Patrons ages 9-12 are invited to the NMPL Makerspace for activities and an after-school snack. Only 20 people will be allowed in the Makerspace at a time to help us practice social distancing, space will be first come, first serve.
Evening Tales is tonight at 6pm! We'll make make the perfect summer accessory, play some watery games, and celebrate the start of the summer solstice!
