It's time for another Craft From Home event! Gather up a few of those art supplies that have been laying around the house for weeks, and join us for an evening of crafting, creativity, and fun on at 6pm Facebook!
March is Women's History Month! We're celebrating with an awesome display of books about amazing women who made history AND a new Family Movie Night Activity Kit! This Women's History kit includes two movies, a puzzle, 3 books about women heroes, and some really fun coloring pages for the kids. Stop by the table across from the circulation desk to grab some books, or peruse the display on the front desk to pick up an Activity Kit!
PLEASE NOTE: Due to illness there will be NO VITA Tax Program today. The program will be back next Friday in the Blocher Room from 10am to 4pm. We're so excited for our Online Book Folding workshop today! We still have a few kits left, so stop by the Makerspace-2-Go to grab one, then tune in to Facebook at 3:45pm to learn how to turn a book into a spunky little pal - just perfect for keeping you company at your desk or for guarding your bookshelves. (The best part? This goat won’t eat your papers!)
If you're a fan of our Binge Boxes, you'll love our Movie Night Activity Kits! We have FIVE kits with five different themes, stuffed full with entertainment and snacks for you to enjoy! Each kit can be checked out for 3 weeks at a time. Keep the food items and activity pages, and return the box, books, DVDs and puzzles to the library when you're done. Stop by today to grab a Movie Night Activity kit and take your movie nights to the next level!
Due to the predictions of poor road quality, the North Manchester Public Library will close at 5pm today (2/24) to ensure staff safety. There may be potential opening delays tomorrow (2/25) to allow the roads to be cleared. We will update patrons via our website, socials, and text alerts if there will be any further delays or changes.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. Even when the roads clear, we still need time to make the parking lot and sidewalks safe for staff and patrons. Please stay tuned and stay warm out there! Storytime is today at 11am on Facebook! Tune in - and don't forget, in person Storytime programs will be back next week! HUZZAH! MoneyTalks for Kids is today at 3:45pm on Facebook! Tune in to get inspired by another amazing kid-entrepreneur!
As of February 24th, properly worn face masks are recommend inside the library as Wabash County's 7 Day Positivity Rate has now fallen below the 15% mark. Per NMPL's Service Strategies for County Pandemic/Epidemic Ratings Metrics, this means people coming into the library building will not be required to wear a mask, though it is recommend. Please note, however, that masks are still required to attend indoor programs. This change takes effect tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. For more information on NMPL service strategies during Covid, please click HERE.
The library staff will continue sanitation measures for materials and the facility. The use of hand sanitizers and social distancing practices are still recommended. If you are uncomfortable coming into the library for any reason, we encourage you to use our curbside service or Libby, our free e-library. It might not be the most glamorous craft supply, but it turns out the humble toilet paper tube can do quite a lot. Case in point this dainty and eye-pleasing floral wreath—made entirely from (you guessed it) the bones of the bathroom staple. Tune into Facebook tonight at 6pm for this virtual event!
It's time for a new Passive Craft of the Week! Colorful pom poms make a simple rainbow picture come to life with this fun project! Stop by the Passive Craft Table in the children's department any time this week to make your own. This craft is perfect to add some brightness to a gray day! 🌈 Storytime is always a good time! Whether we're seeing about singing silly songs, reading a story about our favorite animal pals or our favorite holidays, kids of all ages will love this virtual program. Head to the NMPL Facebook today at 11am to tune in! It's time for another session of Virtual Origami! Join us on the NMPL Facebook page today at 3:45pm for Snapping Mouths!
