The Best of Warner Bros: 50 Looney Tunes Cartoons Collection and Saturday Morning Cartoons (the 1960s and 1970s), are a great way to bring back that bowl of cold cereal-plunked down on the couch-early Saturday morning feel from your childhood.  Start some new traditions by watching them with your kids (or grandkids).

Little ones will rock out to Little Baby Bums: Nursery Rhymes, which features the hit song "Baby Shark" as well as classics like "If You're Happy and You Know It."

Get your TV series fix in with Star Wars: Rebels, the Complete Season 3, The Wild Thornberrys: The Complete Series, and Rugrats: All Grown Up, Seasons 1 - 5.

"There There" March Book Discussion Book Now Available!

2/26/2020

"There There" by Tommy Orange is now available for check out to all patrons participating in the March Book Discussion! Regular and large print copies are available at the front desk.

"Tommy Orange's wondrous and shattering novel follows twelve characters from Native communities: all traveling to the Big Oakland Powwow, all connected to one another in ways they may not yet realize. Among them is Jacquie Red Feather, newly sober and trying to make it back to the family she left behind. Dene Oxendene, pulling his life together after his uncle's death and working at the powwow to honor his memory. Fourteen-year-old Orvil, coming to perform traditional dance for the very first time. Together, this chorus of voices tells of the plight of the urban Native American--grappling with a complex and painful history, with an inheritance of beauty and spirituality, with communion and sacrifice and heroism. Hailed as an instant classic, There There is at once poignant and unflinching, utterly contemporary and truly unforgettable."

Based on a true story, Catherine's War is a heartfelt account of one young photographer's survival in the midst of the tragedy and trauma of Nazi-occupied France.

Finally, an explanation for the odd behavior of pigeons!  They're actually feathered crime fighters chasing the bad guys and saving our cities.  Check out Real Pigeons Fight Crime for the low down on Rock, Tumbler, Homey, and the rest of the flock.

Ants Don't Wear Pants is a humorous and painless way to teach kids all about the anatomy, life cycles, and habitats of different ants.
Picture
Armed with a smart phone (or maybe even a camera!), young photographers will embark on a series of Photo Adventures for Kids that will teach them the ins and outs of framing, composition, color and more!

Some obscure, some famous, but all fascinating; 20 individuals are brought to life for young readers in Missing! Mysterious Cases of People Gone Missing and Caught! Nabbing History's Most Wanted.

Overview: A New Way of Seeing Earth
is a brilliantly assembled collection of satellite images of our planet.  Before and after the California wildfires, the Netherlands' tulip fields, an enormous parking lot in Montgomery, Alabama - these photographs forcefully bring home the vastness of the world around us and the interactions between humans and their environment.
