Banned Books Week

September 21st - 27th

Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating our freedom to read. It celebrates the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular. The books featured during Banned Books Week have all been targeted with removal or restrictions in libraries and schools. We celebrate that most of the books have remained available despite being targeted. Join us for special events during the week including having your photo taken when checking out a banned book! Check for events below and on the Kids Programs page.
