Mother-Daugher Day Out
Saturday, August 30th @ 2:00pm
Join us in the Blocher Room for a fun craft day with your favorite kid. A mother, father, aunt, grandpa, etc. can accompany a child to paint their very own mug! This workshop costs $1 to help cover food and craft supplies. Please sign up at the kids or adult desks. 20 seat limit.
Reading Scavenger Hunt
September 2nd – October 31st
All ages are invited to participate in our reading scavenger hunt! Pick one up at the main or kids desk starting September 2nd. The hunt consists of 13 library locations that require the participant to read a book in order to complete that location. Those who finish all 13 locations will win a prize bag and receive recognition on the library's Facebook and Twitter pages. The deadline for completion is October 31st.
Savvy Social Security

Learn how to make the most of your social security benefits in this free program. Held in the Blocher Room.

Calling all chess players! We are wanting to organize weekly Chess Club meetings here at the library! If interested, please attend the open meeting on Wednesday, September 17 at 5:30pm. From there, we can figure out a weekly meeting schedule that is most convenient for interested players. Feel free to bring your favorite chess set!

Banned Books Week
September 21st - 27th
Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating our freedom to read. It celebrates the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular. The books featured during Banned Books Week have all been targeted with removal or restrictions in libraries and schools. We celebrate that most of the books have remained available despite being targeted. Join us for special events during the week including having your photo taken when checking out a banned book! Join Carrie Sautter in creating 4 of your very own cards! There is a $5 fee to cover the cost of supplies. Samples will be available for viewing at the front desk. Held in the Blocher Room.
Banned Book Movie: The Wizard of Oz
Thursday, September 25th @ 5:30pm
Banned Books Week is September 21-27th! Celebrate your freedom from censorship by watching a movie adaptation of a banned book, The Wizard of Oz! Snacks will be provided! All ages are welcome. Parents, please attend with your young children. Held in the Blocher Room. Movie is 1 hour 42 minutes long and rated PG by the MPAA.

Share Your Collection
Do you collect vintage tshirts? What about postcards or stamps? Show off your collection in one of our glass display cases!
A patron's collection may be matched with appropriate library materials. Collections are typically displayed for up to 3 months, and the display cases are kept locked.
Just give us a call at 260-982-4773 or come in and fill out a form at the circulation desk!
