Fall for a Good Book Giveaway

Fill out a ticket each day you visit the library for a chance to win a good book in our giveaway! Adults 18 years or older.
Our Heroes' Tree
Friday, November 1 – Thursday, January 2
Our Heroe's Tree is a national program founded to recognize and honor the sacrifices of current and past service members. To participate in Our Heroes’ Tree, bring a photo honoring a service member from past and present wars, conflicts, or peacetime operations. Bring the ornament to the library and we will scan it for placement on the national virtual Heroes’ Tree and then hang them on the library’s Heroes' Tree. Original photos are returned to the owners.
Peace Corp Holiday Book Drive
Monday, December 2 – Thursday, January 2
The library will be collecting gently-used or new children's books to send to Madagascar for the New Year. These children are in need of new books for their small library and local schools. There will be collection boxes in the adult and children's departments. For the first week, get $0.25 off a current fine for each book donated.
Write Santa a Letter
Monday, December 2 – Tuesday, December 23
Write letters to Santa and drop them off at the North Pole Postal Mailbox in the Children's department! One of Santa's elves will pick up the letters each week until December 23rd. Parents: Add a return address and your child may receive a letter from Santa himself!
Wednesday, December 11 @ 9:00am-5:00pm
Enter our cookie contest and possibly win a prize! Patrons will taste-test and vote on their favorite cookies from 9am until 5pm. Pick up an entry form at the front desk!
Family Movie Night

Join us in the basement for two classic family holiday movies, Frosty the Snowman and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Santa Visits the Library!
Thursday, December 12 @ 5:30-7:00pm
Come pet live reindeer and get your photo taken with Santa for free! We will upload these photos to our library Facebook where you can print off as many as you'd like! Also enjoy our hot cocoa bar with cookies! Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Join Dr. Beate Gillar in the last installment of her Fall Writing Retreat. The focus will be inspiring images. No sign-up is required. In the Blocher Room.
Christmas Craft Day
Saturday, December 14 @ 1:30-4:30pm
Join us in making Christmas crafts in this free program! Doors open at 1:30pm and you are welcome to come and go as you please. We will provide instructions and limited assistance if needed. There will be refreshments and festive Christmas music playing! Adults only please.
Nancy Lance's Retirement Party
Wednesday, December 18 @ 4:00-6:00pm
After 32 years at North Manchester Public Library, Nancy Lance will be retiring. Her caring attitude toward library patrons made all who entered the Children's department feel welcome. Join us in the Storytime room as we celebrate her time with us. Those who cannot make it during the scheduled time are free to stop by anytime before 4:00pm to visit. Her last day will be January 1st.
Make an Ornament!

Winter Break Fun

Share Your Collection
Do you collect displayed insects? How about coins from around the world? Show off your collection in one of our glass display cases!
A patron's collection may be matched with appropriate library materials. Collections are typically displayed for up to 3 months, and the display cases are kept locked.
Just give us a call at 982-4773 or come in and fill out a form at the circulation desk!
