Ongoing Programs and Events

Reading Scavenger Hunt

September 2nd – October 31st

All ages are invited to participate in our reading scavenger hunt! Pick one up at the main or kids desk starting September 2nd. The hunt consists of 13 library locations that require the participant to read a book in order to complete that location. Those who finish all 13 locations will win a prize bag and receive recognition on the library's Facebook and Twitter pages. The deadline for completion is October 31st.

Card Workshop

Wednesday, October 29th @ 6:00pm

Join Carrie Sautter in creating 4 of your very own cards! There is a $5 fee to cover the cost of supplies. Samples will be available for viewing at the front desk as well as a sign up sheet. Held in the Blocher Room.

Halloween Party

Thursday, October 30 @ 5:00pm-7:00pm

Those 18 years or younger are invited to join us for our annual Halloween party in the basement! There will be games, treats, and a costume contest! Categories include: Scariest, Cutest, and Most Originial. You can even trick-or-treat at the kids and adult department desks. NOTE: Children 13 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult. 

Puzzle Corner

November 1 – February 28

This fall & winter season we will have puzzles available at a table for your pleasure. Enjoy the puzzles provided, bring your own, or contribute your old puzzles to our collection. Starts November 1st and ends February 28th.  

Friends of the Library Book Sale

Friday & Saturday, November 7 & 8 @ 9am-5pm

The fall Friends of the Library book sale is here! Peruse the hundreds of gently-used fiction, non-fiction, children's, and teen books as well as CDs and movies. Proceeds from the sale support programs at the library. Held in the Blocher Room. 

Writing Workshop

Join Dr. Beate Gilliar in the Blocher Community Room for her spring writing retreat. The theme is Falling within…gratitude.

Pie Baking Contest

Think your pie recipe is the best? Enter it into our contest for the chance to win a prize! Pick up an application at the desk starting November 5th.

Patron Appreciation Day

Friday, November 21st @ 9:00am-5:00pm

We appreciate you! As a little thank you for your patronage, we will be offering hot apple cider all day. Grab a cup while you pick out your next book or movie. 

Mother-Daughter Day Out

Saturday, November 22nd @ 1:00pm

Join us in the Blocher Room for a tote-stamping craft day with your favorite kid. Each child in attendance should be accompanied by an adult (mother, father, aunt, uncle, etc.) to assist them with their project. There will be a $1 per participant charge to help cover the cost of food and craft materials. Sign up at the adult or kid's desk starting November 5th. Twenty seats will be available and snacks will be provided. Because this is a rescheduled event, those who had previously signed up will be given first priority.

Do you have basic computer, eReader, or Overdrive questions? Then make an appointment with Heidi! She will be available for assistance by appointment only Tuesday-Saturday 9am-5pm. Please call 260-982-4773 or email Heidi at 

Share Your Collection

Do you collect vintage tshirts? What about postcards or stamps? Show off your collection in one of our glass display cases! 

A patron's collection may be matched with appropriate library materials. Collections are typically displayed for up to 3 months, and the display cases are kept locked.

Just give us a call at 260-982-4773 or come in and fill out a form at the circulation desk!
