The Solar Eclipse is Monday and we know how excited everyone is for this big event!
NMPL will be hosting a solar eclipse viewing party on the library lawn starting at 12:30pm on Monday. At this time we will be giving out solar eclipse glasses for all those planning on attending the program!
For those who are not able to get glasses or who would prefer to stay inside, we will be showing a NASA live stream of the solar eclipse on the large screen in the Blocher Room!
The library has received numerous questions and phone calls regarding Monday's Eclipse Party. NMPL was not a recipient of the free glasses for libraries, which allowed some libraries around the country to hand out free glasses to the public. At NMPL, we did purchase a limited number of glasses for our Eclipse Viewing Party on Monday. We will be handing out those glasses on a first come, first serve basis starting at 12:30 P.M.on Monday for those who wish to participate in the program. Due to the limited number of glasses, we will only be giving out one pair of glasses per person. You must be present to receive a pair of glasses. If you have any questions, please contact the library.
