All ages are invited to participate in our reading scavenger hunt! Pick one up at the main or kids desk starting September 2nd. The hunt consists of 13 library locations that require the participant to read a book in order to complete that location. Those who finish all 13 locations will win a prize bag and receive recognition on the library's Facebook and Twitter pages. The deadline for completion is October 31st.

Overdrive Workshop

Kids ages 7-12

Don't know what Overdrive is? Come learn!  Let us help you get an online account, all you need is your library card.  This workshop will teach you how to use Overdrive so you can check out e-books and audio books on your laptopiPad, Kindle, Nook or other e-Reader.

Bring along your e-Reader if you have one!

Saturday, October 4th

from 2-3 pm in the Story Room

Celebrate World's Sweetest Day (an actual holiday) in the Children's Department October 18th. Children, with the help of an adult, are invited to make their favorite dessert for a chance to win a prize.

Children who wish to participate can bring their dessert to the desk on Saturday, October 18th before noon. Judges will pick a winner for the most unique dessert, best presentation, and most delicious dessert. Winners will be announced that afternoon!

Halloween is just around the corner. Are you ready?

Halloween Party:

October 30th 5-7 pm in the library basement. There will be treats, games, and face painting so make sure your Halloween night includes coming to the library!

Halloween Costume Contest:

During the Halloween party, kids can enter our costume contest. Participants will have their picture taken so that judges can decide on winners during the party. Participants do not have to be at the party the entire time to win. There will be three winners, one for each category. The categories are Cutest Costume, Scariest Costume, and Most Original costume.

Trick-or-Treating will also be the night of the 30th. Children can come into the library, in costume, and receive a goody bag at the Main or Children's desk.
